NameDAO is a project focusing on empowering people around the world to build culture-first, identity-based DAOs, and collectively produce public goods projects that deliver social impact while having a regenerative economy model.
It's culture-first because we think that's the easiest way for people to have consensus. With members in the same culture and possibly same territory, it is easier for them to communicate and collaborate.
It is identity-based because every DAO member will have a .bit account, a unified identification - like a passport - for them to navigate around. Every member will have an equal chance to have been recognized as an individual in the web3 world, build trust, form communities around verified people.
When we have verified people coming from a background that are easy to have a consensus, it is time to create something collectively. Many people are building applications of every kind in this new system, but it has yet to attract enough audience nor enough capital to support them to keep going on this track which benefits everyone. DAO has emerged to mitigate this problem, but many have proven that their efforts are in vain: governance issues, low liquidity in treasury and such, and most DAOs are focusing on solving or creating values in the Web3.0 world only. NameDAO project aims to empower the community to collectively fund the public goods or generate one on their own, and contribute to the crypto ecosystem.
But we do not want our contributors to work without being rewarded. DAOs nowadays lack ways other than financial incentives. But people are social animals, we want recognition from others. We think that people can ascribe trust, fellowship, and other humane emotions onto the .bit account of the others. Reputational gains in most cases are not enough, so we have designed a regenerative model that will support the long-term growth of the project.
We deem that it is time for a change. We want to initiate this project with the regenerative economic model, and we would not fill the DAO treasury with our native token - not now at least - but fill it with tokens that can be used to incentivize members directly: USDC or USDT and such. We want the DAO to use the spare capital to really rally people around and focus on real-world issues, and pave the way towards a better approach to creating and maintaining public goods.
We are envisioning a sustainable, regenerative model for DAO, which can support people to BUIDL - not only for the Web3.0, but also for the Web2.0 world - and live with. That is NameDAO.
